Shirley Jean (Fuller) Imbach

February 10, 1938 ~ June 6, 2022 (age 84)

Our beloved Shirley passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was 84 years old.

Shirley was born in Long Beach, California, to Eugene (Jack) Fuller and Florence (Earl) Fuller. She graduated from Canoga Park High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Richard Imbach. Richard and Shirley married in 1958 and relocated to Medford, Oregon. During their year in Oregon their son, David, was born, and on their return to California their son, Christopher, joined the family. They were long-time residents of the Porterville-Strathmore area for the remainder of their lives.

Shirley was the Administrative Assistant at Rockford School in Porterville for over 25 years and many former Rockford students fondly remember “Mrs. Imbach” from the office. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco in 1984 and retired in 2000. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling in the US and the world with her dear friends, teaching and attending Bible studies through church groups and Bible Study Fellowship, and spending time with family and friends.

Shirley loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She was known for her thoughtfulness in remembering birthdays and special occasions for family, friends, colleagues and fellow church members. Many are those who received cards with a special note from Shirley on their birthday year after year.

Shirley is survived by sons David (Stephanie) and Christopher (Theresa); grandchildren Kimberley Schnepf (Michael), Daniel Imbach (Caitlin), Katherine Able (Brad), Deborah Imbach, Kelley Nelmapius (Kegan), Stephen Imbach and Mary Ramirez (Anthony); great grandchildren Malakai Able, Aubrey Able, Kevin Schnepf, Roman Nelmapius, Jonah Schnepf, Liam Ramirez, and Ezekiel Nelmapius; brother, Frank Fuller, nephews Kent Fuller (Jane), Mathew Imbach (Cassandra) and niece Rene Lipp (Eric). She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene (Jack) Fuller and Florence (Earl) Fuller, and her husband of 41 years, Richard (Dick) Imbach.

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Belia Rountree, Dawn Doty, and Sherrie and Candy of American Care Hospice for their loving and tender care of Shirley during the last months of her life.
