Obituary

Judy Reavis, a lifelong resident of Porterville, passed away at her home on May 7, 2022 after a long illness.  She was born on May 3, 1948 in Porterville, California and was 74 years old.  Judy was the youngest daughter of Leo and Hattie Reavis.

Judy attended Porterville High School and then joined the workforce after her daughters were born.  She worked alongside her mother Hattie on the assembly line at Rockwell International/Morse Controls until she went to work for Regal Textiles as the Administrative Secretary.  She then decided to go back to school and get her Nail Technician license and after graduation, she opened her own salon, Judy’s Guys and Dolls in Porterville.  She owned and operated her business for many years before retiring to spend time with her family and friends.

Judy’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and she spent countless hours going to their soccer, basketball, baseball and water polo games as well as swim meets and band performances.  She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and they will all fondly remember her as their Grandma that spoiled them by spending precious time crafting, swimming, playing games and cooking with them. She made the best pancakes, cookies and funnel cakes around!  She was most happy when she was in the kitchen cooking and baking and often shared her delicious food with family and friends. She enjoyed being in her yard tending to her flower garden and having lunch and playing cards with her friends. Judy had a heart of gold and would do anything for her loved ones and she unselfishly always put others before herself.  She had such a great sense of humor and we will miss her storytelling and making us laugh until we had tears in our eyes! Judy will certainly be missed by all and she will never be forgotten by any.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Leo, mother Hattie and sister Linda.  She is survived by her sister Nadena and brother-in-law Mike McQueen of Porterville, daughter Shelly (Burchell) and son-in-law Ruben Nourian of Tulare, daughter Brenda (Burchell) Daniels of Porterville, daughter-in-law Deana Sherrell-Pate of Fresno, nephew Steven Hall and niece Marla Fields both of Visalia, grandsons Lance Nourian, Wyatt Daniels and Jeremy Sherrell, granddaughters Amber Gutierrez and Shanna Pate and three great grandchildren, Gavin, Olivia and Colette.
