Marian M. Schoelz

November 29, 1925 ~ February 4, 2018 (age 92)

Marian Schoelz, age 92 years old, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2018. Shewas preceded in death by her loving husband Edgar Schoelz after celebrating over 54 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, J.D. Wadley, Haldor Wadley and her sister Eileen Little.
Born in San Gabriel, CA, Marian was the daughter of J.D. and Bessie Mae Wadley. She lived most of her life in Southern California until she and her husband moved to Porterville in 2002.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Dr. Michael and Janine Martin, Rev. Mark and Karen Pitcher, Dr. James and Anne Schoelz, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Marian loved the Lord and was a loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and her family were always important to her. She provided the "fun home" in the neighborhood where everyone was accepted. When her children went off to college, Marian went to work for World Vision International as an office clerk. She enjoyed working in a Christian atmosphere that brought the Gospel message and provided compassionate ministries to those around the world.
Marian's hobbies included sewing, quilting and cake decorating. She made many of her children's clothing and presented each of her children with a handmade quilt as a wedding gift.
When her grandchildren came along she made each one a special baby quilt. Her cakes were creative and elaborate and were a joy to all who received them.
Marian was an active member of the Porterville Church of the Nazarene. She was a children's Sunday School teacher until she was well into her 80's. She enjoyed participating as a member of the church's missionary council, the Lamplighter's Sunday School class and a women's Bible study group.
Marian lived her final years at Sierra Hills. She enjoyed the activities they provided, the friendships and the loving care from the employees and caregivers.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a Celebration of Her Life on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Porterville Church of the Nazarene. Viewing will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Porterville Funeral and Cremation Center.
